Camping is probably the backbone of the Excursion Club, since it is involved on almost every single weekend trip. We have been all over Caliornia, from the mountains in the north to the deserts in the south, and pretty much everywhere inbetween. The club has a rather large supply of sleeping bags, sleeping pads, and tents for members that don't have their own equipment, and we are happy to lend them out.

Recent camping trips have been to the local favorite Forbush, Santa Cruz and Santa Rosa Islands, and Joshua Tree. We have trips planned for Montana de Oro, Jalama, Big Sur, and the Santa Ynez Wilderness later in the year.

"Bear? Run down hill. Mountain Lion? Jump around like a crazy person. A Pissed Off Forest Ranger? Well you've better have a full flask or a pretty girl friend with ya!" -Bill Howes
