Excursion Club general meetings are held every week on the UCSB campus. Members are able to hear about upcoming trips and sign up for the ones that interest them. Quite often pre-trip meetings are held after the general meeting in order to give trip participants all of the logisticlal information needed. Trip deposits and club gear can also be dropped off at the general meetings.

Not only are meetings a great way to hear about and sign up for trips, but they allow members to get acquainted with each other. One of the officer's will sometimes organize a spur-of-the-moment dinner outing for sushi, pizza, or other type of cuisine that everyone is invited to. Half the fun of the club is getting to know the other people involved in it.

Fall Quarter Meetings will be held every Tuesday at 7pm in Chem 1179.

The Excursion Club is open to everyone that is interested in the activities that we organize. The majority of members do attend UCSB, but we also have SBCC students, graduate level students, and even people who have finished their degrees and still live in the area. The only requirement that we have for membership is that you are over 18.

Membership fees are $40 for an entire calendar year. That is if you join today your membership is good until this day next year. All of the membership fees collected are used to purchase club equipment, fund social events for club members, and a small portion is used to purchase flyers and other administrative supplies. Members are able to borrow equipment for Excursion Club trips at no cost. Current equipment includes: backpacks, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, backpacking stoves, first-aid kits, tarps, tents, snowshoes, ice axes, surfboards, wetsuits, rock climbing equipment, kayaking equipment, walkie-talkies, California topographic maps, and a GPS.

There are two ways that you can sign up to become a member.

1. Attend one of our weekly meetings. There you can fill out a membership form and pay the membership fee.

2. If you cannot make the weekly meetings, contact one of the Directors on the Officers Page.
